Bass Camp 2016 video interview with David Sanchez and Nick Schendzielos

Last year’s Bass Camp took place from August 28th to September 2nd of 2016 at Warwick in Markneukirchen/Germany, followed by the ReeveLand Music Festival on September 3rd. During the Bass Camp in 2016, we had the opportunity to talk extensively with the Warwick artists. All interviews were recorded by the Warwick video team at the Warwick Headquarters in Markneukirchen.

David Sanchez and Nick Schendzielos – Bass Camp 2016 video interview

This time our guests are David Sanchez (vocals and guitar) and Nick Schendzielos (Bass) of the American Thrash Metal Band Havok. Both are Framus/Warwick endorsers. David plays several Framus Masterbuilt Custom Shop Wolf Hoffmann (WH1) signature instruments. Nick plays Warwick Masterbuilt Custom Shop Dolphin and Streamer basses.

Nick Schendzielos is the newcomer in the band, and as a bass player he not only introduces his Warwick, but also a slap bass technique that is rather untypical for the genre. On their new album „Conformicide” this new style is to be heard for the first time in the band history, also with Framus and Warwick instruments, which enhance the sound of the band immensely, according to their own statement.

They also talk about their relationship to Warwick, „special merits” that such an endorsement entails, and the „correct pronunciation” of the brand name „Warwick”. (Of course, all jokingly meant)

Nick used the opportunity visiting the Bass Camp 2016 to get his Streamer modified at the Warwick Custom Shop (the neck got an oil finish). The guys also demonstrate the sound as well as their ability on the instruments with a selection of effect pedals.
