Steve Lukather tells TopGuitar about his “Transition”

Is “Transition” going to be Lukather’s return to musical shape. In an interview by Piotr Nowicki, Steve tells TopGuitar how determined he is to prove that the worst days are already behind him.

“I had a really bad period in my life between the year 2005 and 2009. I played not so good, I drank too much. My approach to play fast was bullshit and I’m ashamed of those years” – recalls Steve Lukather. “When you reach the very bottom, there is only one way: up! (…) I had to redefine my soloing style. I’ve lost it – I know it and I’m sorry. Take me aside and hit me if you like, but no one can hit me as hard as I’d hit myself.”

Read the whole interview with Steve Lukather in the June edition of TopGuitar magazine (6/2013).
