Korg Nuvibe awarded as “Top Gear”
TopGuitar is proud to announce that the Nuvibe guitar effect pedal from Korg was reviewed in the November issue of the magazine and received a “Top Gear” editors’ award this month. The products were delivered for review by official Korg distributor in Poland, Mega Music.
Below are some excerpts from a successful review by gear department editor Krzysztof Blas, which may serve as reasons for the award:
“After almost fifty years, Korg decided to resurrect the legendary effect famous from its woodstock sound – the Nuvibe. Reissues of vintage equipment is nothing new, many companies try to bring back the tones from the past. But Korg approached this task from a different angle and instead of offering a more or less faithful copy of the old Nuvibe, decided to cooperate with Fumio Mieda – the original constructor of the effect – and design a new version that will combine the old technology with modern solutions that contemporary guitarists got used to.”
“The effect works equally great with delicate settings that just color up the tone a little bit, as well as with more extreme sounds that allow for total sonic experiment. The real revelation is the possibility to manually define the shape of oscillation wave.”
“Nuvibe is a very creative sound crafting tool. A broad spectrum of controls and many options of setting the modulation character enable the user of this device to navigate in various musical situations, while providing a very characteristic tone with a taste of rock and roll’s golden era.”
