Orange Amplification Expands Its Line with the Glenn Hughes Signature Purple O Bass Guitar

Orange Amplification, following the success of the Glenn Hughes Signature Crush Bass 50 Combo Amp, is to introduce the Glenn Hughes Signature Purple O Bass guitar. This new addition to their collection is a variation of the popular O Bass and features a striking purple finish. It also includes two interchangeable scratchplates in ivory and jet black, both 3-ply, and a high-quality padded gig bag for transport and protection.

Crafted from lightweight African Okoumé wood, the body of this bass guitar offers exceptional resonance, enhancing the sound transferred through the Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Bass Pickup. The guitar’s neck, constructed from Maple and topped with a Purpleheart fretboard, provides a clear, bright, and transparent tone. Adding to its aesthetic appeal, the bass is adorned with a Chequerboard binding around the body and headstock, giving it a classic and distinctive appearance.

The deep purple color of the Glenn Hughes Signature Purple O Bass not only pays homage to the 1960s and 70s but also to the early days of heavy metal. Whether used in a studio or on stage, this eye-catching instrument is designed to stand out, especially when paired with the matching purple Glenn Hughes Signature Crush Bass 50 Combo.

Glenn Hughes, a longtime ambassador for Orange and celebrated as the ‘Voice of Rock,’ marked the 50th anniversary of Deep Purple’s „Burn” album in 2023. In 2024, he is set to take his ‘Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live’ show on a nationwide tour in the USA.
