Gibson LPJ Cherry Satin awarded “Top Gear”

TopGuitar is proud to announce that the LPJ Cherry Satin electric guitar from Gibson had been reviewed for the December issue of the magazine and received a “Top Gear” editors’ award this month.

Below are some excerpts from a successful review by gear department editor Grzegorz Ufnal, which may serve as reasons for the award:

“The guitar is built according to the same rules that made the Les Paul model one of the most legendary and sought after guitars in the world. There would be nothing so sensational about it if not the astonishingly low price that makes it fit into almost any budget.”

“A very spartan appearance of this instrument is, in my opinion, its great advantage. I prefer a thin layer of nitro lacquer that gently covers the wood rather than thick polyurethane or polyester shells. Here the wood can naturally vibrate and resonate, adding acoustic quality to the sound of the pickups.”

“Like all LPs, the guitar captivates with simplicity and – again like all LPs – all you need to do is take it out of the box and plug it to an amplifier to get great tone instantly.”

“For people looking for a big humbucker tone there are hardly any other substitutes to be found at this price point. The solutions used here are quintessential to a classic LP sound that you can just take for granted with this model.”
