Life of most artists, including those most famous ones, is not all peaches and cream. This was definitely the case with Slowhand who described his addictions and difficult relations with family and other people in an unusually honest autobiography a few years ago. Luckily, he always had music at hand to help him through the hardest moments. And the other way round, those difficult experiences often gave birth to beautiful songs.
