Peavey Electronics Introduces Invective.112 Combo Tube Guitar Amplifier

Peavey Electronics has expanded its invective line of guitar amplifiers with the launch of the invective.112 combo, a 20-watt all-tube amp designed in collaboration with Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor. This new addition aims to deliver the signature tones of the original invective.120, but in a more compact and versatile package, making it ideal for both studio recording and live performances.

The invective.112 features a 20-watt RMS output, with an impedance switch that allows for connection to a variety of speaker cabinets. A key feature of this amp is its three-position power output switch, which lets users toggle between 100%, 25%, and 5% of the amp’s full power. This means guitarists can achieve the desired power amp overdrive without needing to crank the volume, making it a versatile choice for different settings.

Built to cater to the demands of high-gain tones, the invective.112 is equipped with a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, a popular choice among rock and metal guitarists for its ability to handle intense distortion while maintaining clarity and definition. The amplifier also includes Peavey’s Tube Status Indication (T.S.I.™) LEDs, providing real-time monitoring of the tube’s condition.

Inside, the invective.112 houses two EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes, delivering a warm and versatile tone. The amp offers two channels—Clean and Lead—each with its own 3-band EQ. The Clean channel is designed for pristine tones at any volume, with an option to boost gain via footswitch. The Lead channel, on the other hand, is tailored for aggressive, high-gain sounds, featuring a Tight function, Adjustable Gate Threshold, and Boost, all footswitchable.

In addition to its robust sound capabilities, the invective.112 comes with several modern features for seamless integration into a studio or live setup. Peavey’s MSDI™ (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) circuit allows for direct output to a mixing console, replicating the sound of a mic’d speaker. A USB Record Output is also included, enabling direct connection to a computer for silent recording. Other features include a speaker Enable/Defeat switch, which disconnects the speaker for silent monitoring through headphones or direct outputs.

Weighing under 40 pounds and constructed from high-grade birch plywood, the invective.112 is both portable and durable, designed for musicians on the go. Priced at $1,199.99 USD, this compact amplifier offers a comprehensive solution for guitarists seeking high-quality tone in a versatile, user-friendly format.
