New D’Addario string for bassists

D’Addario, the world’s premier music accessories manufacturer, is excited to introduce new additions to three of its popular bass string lines, including the XL Nickel Double Ball End Electric, Black Nylon Tape Wound, and EXP Acoustic Bass lines.

“D’Addario consistently expands its product offerings in an effort to inspire bassists,” says Brian Johnson, D’Addario Product Specialist. “These line extensions answer a variety of requests for multiple types of bassists, and we’ll continue to keep our ear to the pavement for future additions.”

Continuing their long-time partnership with pioneer Ned Steinberger, D’Addario is proud to release two new XL Double Ball End Nickel Wound Electric Sets for bass. These sets have been specifically calibrated for Steinberger bass guitars. “We work directly with Ned to ensure that we have the most up-to-date and correct specs for all his instruments,” says Brian Johnson, D’Addario Product Specialist. “These strings are manufactured with the highest quality and performance bassists have come to expect from our XL Nickel wound series.” The ESXL165 Nickel Wound Bass Set is a hybrid set, combining the high (.045 and .065) and low (.085 and .105) strings from two popular D’Addario sets. The ESXL170-5 is Nickel Wound 5-String double ball end set based of the popular 5-string single ball set. Steinberger enthusiasts can enjoy ESXL165 at a retail of $66.50 and ESXL170-5 at a retail of $88.90.

New for the Black Nylon TapeWound series is a Super Long Scale Bass Set, ETB92SL. This set is designed to fit super long scale basses up to 38 inches. The set will retail for $80.00. Also new to the Black Nylon TapeWound line is TWB035, a .035 gauge single C-string which can be used with the D’Addario Tapewound set, ETB92-5, to create a 6-string set. This string will retail for $14.50.

Expanding the popular EXP line for acoustic bass, D’Addario adds the short scale EXPBB170S and the 5-string EXPPBB170-5 Coated EXP Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Bass sets. EXP coating offers four times more string life than an uncoated set and provides a rich, deep and projecting tone found in uncoated strings. The short scale set is designed to fit short scale basses with lengths up to 32 inches and will retail for $73.60. The 5-string version is for long scale up to 36 7/8 inches and will retail for $86.50.

These new offerings will be available July 1, 2013. D’Addario consistently expands its product offerings in an effort to encourage bassists across genres to higher levels of performance.
