Gibson, the iconic American musical instrument brand known for shaping the soundscape of generations, has announced Latin pop sensation JOAQUINA as the newest talent featured in its Artist Spotlight program. This initiative aims to showcase an evolving lineup of global musicians, giving them a platform for international recognition and connecting fans with fresh, innovative music across diverse genres.
Joaquina’s Meteoric Rise
At only 20 years old, JOAQUINA has established herself as a formidable voice in Latin pop. She began composing songs at the age of 8, backed by her skills in guitar, piano, and vocal performance. Her music, characterized by poetic pop-rock themes of love, heartbreak, and youthful defiance, resonates with the raw emotion found in the early works of contemporary songwriters.
JOAQUINA’s artistry quickly gained traction among industry veterans. GRAMMY-winning producer Julio Reyes Copello, who has worked with artists such as Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin, recognized her talent and invited her to participate in an esteemed music program at the Abbey Road Institute. She has since opened for major acts like Fonseca, Alejandro Sanz, and Morat, further solidifying her presence in the Latin music scene.
Her achievements include two nominations at the 24th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Notably, JOAQUINA made history as the youngest nominee in the “Best Singer-Songwriter Album” category for her debut EP, Los Mejores Años, and won the Latin GRAMMY for “Best New Artist.”

Released in 2023 to critical acclaim, Los Mejores Años (notas de diario) embodies JOAQUINA’s deep-rooted connection to Spanish pop-rock. Produced alongside Julio Reyes Copello, the EP features live recordings and voice notes, giving listeners an intimate view of her songwriting process. The standout track, “Rabia,” encapsulates the folk-pop essence and explores universal emotions tied to first heartbreaks. A reissue of the EP is set to reveal more of her creative journey.
A Star On The Rise
JOAQUINA’s impressive year has included performances with globally renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli at Hyde Park in London, where she sang “Vivo por ella” to an audience of 30,000. She has also performed to sold-out crowds in Mexico and Spain and graced the cover of Cosmopolitan Spain.
Adding to her growing repertoire, JOAQUINA has released singles like “Quise Quererte,” “Escapar De Mi,” “Pesimista,” “No Llames Lo Mío Nuestro,” and “El Alquimista.” These songs preview her highly anticipated debut full-length album, expected in 2025.
