C.F. Martin & Co. Unveils Diverse New Instrument Lineup at 2024 NAMM Show
In a significant expansion of its celebrated instrument collection, C.F. Martin & Co. has unveiled an array of nine new acoustic guitar and ukulele models at the 2024 NAMM Show. This latest offering from the legendary guitar manufacturer includes innovative designs and commemorates notable historical milestones, showcasing the company’s ongoing commitment to blending tradition with modernity.
At the heart of the new lineup is the Custom K-1 Major Kealakai model, a tribute to Hawaiian musician Major Kealakai. This guitar, originally crafted in 1916, was instrumental in the evolution of the iconic Dreadnought design. The reimagined version features vintage elements such as sinker mahogany, an Adirondack spruce top, and a refreshed bridge design, symbolizing Martin’s rich heritage in guitar craftsmanship.
Another highlight is the D-42 Bitcoin guitar, a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics. This unique model includes a solid gold token and crypto-themed inlays, offering a new level of exclusivity for collectors. The guitar’s pearl QR code inlay on the pickguard links to a private webpage, adding a digital dimension to this collector’s piece.
Marking a personal milestone, the D-50 CFM IV 50th Anniversary guitar honors Chris Martin IV’s 50 years of leadership. This limited-edition model, with its exquisite materials and intricate inlays, reflects the high standards Martin has maintained under his stewardship. Similarly, the D-CFM IV 50th Anniversary guitar, produced in Martin’s Navojoa factory, blends traditional craftsmanship with a celebration of the company’s global team.
Artistry and innovation combine in the ID-Robert Goetzl 7 guitar, a collaboration with artist Robert F. Goetzl. This instrument is as much a piece of art as it is a musical tool, featuring a koi pond design and offering exceptional sound quality.
The OM 20th Century Limited, a joint creation with RGM watchmakers, is another standout. Inspired by the Art Deco era, this guitar comes with a custom, railroad-inspired watch, making it a remarkable collector’s item.
Rounding out the collection are the SC-18E and SC-28E models, which blend modern playability with classic Martin aesthetics. These guitars feature innovative neck systems and are designed for comfort and superior sound quality. Finally, the TKE Uke introduces a new tenor ukulele to Martin’s lineup, boasting a solid koa body and advanced electronics for versatile performance.
