Product Demo The Blank with Devin Townsend
Devin Townsend, best known from his progressive metal project „The Devin Townsend Project”, previously developed in cooperation with Framus, the sensational Framus „Stormbender”, whose stunning construction process was filmed several times on the official Framus & Warwick YouTube Channel. The Stormbender was to be tailored as the „perfect” instrument for his personal needs in studio, on stage and to offer other artists an ideal basis for their own professional creative journey.
For his new musical project „Casualties Of Cool”, with singer Ché Aimee Dorval, the duo strongly differs from the „The Devin Townsend Project” in terms of sound. For this, Devin needed not only a different look for his instrument, but also something that stands out from the Stormbender in with sound. This is how „The Blank” by Framus was created.
„The Blank” by Framus is simple instrument both visually and electronically. This version of The Blank is based on a T-style guitar in its basic concept in terms of sound and handling. Devin requested two single coil pickups and a 3-way blade switch are used to clearly distinguish the body form compared to the traditional T-style look. The alder body is sandblasted, has a flat LP-style design and a satin finish.
The Bolt-On neck is made of flamed maple, with 22 frets and 25.5″ scale length. If you enjoy the design of Framus’ “The Blank” T, but prefer a humbucker sound, “The Blank” is also available as a humbucker version („The Blank H”). In this video, Devin shows us what his latest creation can do, but also how he has adapted his „original model” to his individual needs. Both versions of “The Blank” by Framus are also available as Pro Series Teambuilt models.
