D’Addario, the world’s premier music accessory manufacturer, is proud to officially welcome hardcore guitar master, James Love, to the D’Addario and Planet Waves artist rosters.
“Hardcore is not just a style of music for James, it’s a way of life,” affirms Marco Soccoli, Director of Artist Relations at D’Addario. “We admire his work with the Dillinger Escape Plan and look forward to their continued success in the mathcore music scene.”
The Dillinger Escape Plan is an American mathcore band from Morris Plains, New Jersey currently signed to Sumerian Records. Originating in 1997, the band’s current line-up consists of guitarists James Love and Ben Weinman, bassist Liam Wilson, vocalist Greg Puciato, and drummer Billy Rymer.
In 1998, The Dillinger Escape Plan recorded their first three-song EP, Under the Running Board, which was released on Relapse Records. 1999 saw the release of the band’s next album Calculating Infinity, which was met with rave reviews and was considered by many to be “an extremely innovative and groundbreaking album.” Finally in 2004, the band recorded their first full-length album, Miss Machine, which solidified The Dillinger Escape Plan as one of the most creative and polarizing groups in metal. The band’s newest album, One of Us Is The Killer, was released on May 14, 2013. Love worked with the Dillinger Escape plan in 2004-2006 and rejoined the band in 2012.
With the Dilinger Escape Plan, Love plays D’Addario EXL110BT Balanced Tension strings and uses Planet Waves American Stage cables. Love hypes D’Addario by saying, “D’Addario strings have a tone and feel that is unmatched by any other brand as well as a consistent quality that I can count on.”
By working with musicians like James Love, D’Addario hopes to inspire higher levels of performance and creativity.
