D’Addario Celebrates Its First Ever Artist Appreciation Party at NAMM 2013; Watch the Video!

D’Addario, the world’s largest music accessories manufacturer, is proud to announce the great success of its first Artist Appreciation Party at the 2013 winter NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA. Since D’Addario appreciates great artists and great music, it goes without saying that it appreciates a great party too. With non-stop performances throughout the night from a slew of all-star band members, it’s no wonder crowds waited in line for over two hours to get in on the 450-person capacity venue.

“As our first after-party at NAMM, we were hoping for a great turnout, but this blew past anything we expected,” says Marco Soccoli, Director of Artist Relations. “We’re extremely grateful to all the endorsers and industry attendees who helped make this event an unforgettable night.”

D’Addario’s artist relations team grouped various talented endorsers together to play as bands while industry folks enjoyed the music, food, drinks, and fun. The impressive line-up of members from numerous bands included greats like D’Addario and Planet Waves guitarists Alex Skolnick (Testament, Alex Skolnick Trio), Earl Slick (David Bowie), Greg Howe, Oz Noy, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Mendoza Trio), Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Bill Kelliher (Mastodon), as well as hot, new group Dead Sara. Planet Waves’ vocalist Joey Belladonna (Anthrax) rocked American Stage Cables through the night, as well.

Bassists that wowed the crowds were Victor Wooten, Michael Rhodes, and Chris Wyse (The Cult, OWL), who stunned the audience with his incredible bowed bass solo. Evans endorsees that rocked the night away included Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), Dennis Chambers (Santana), Matt Halpern (Periphery), and Brann Dailor (Mastodon), while ProMark drummer, Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction) was on the scene as well.

“Playing Black Sabbath covers with those guys [Brann Dailor, Joey Belladonna, Alex Skolnick, Frank Bello] was even better than I expected,” raved Bill Kelliher of Mastodon.

Guitarist Earl Slick agreed, “It was a lot of fun to play with Dead Sara & Stephen Perkins. I look forward to playing with them again. Great party, D’Addario!”

Amongst the plethora of notable guests that night was drummer and endorsee Jojo Mayer, Bernie Williams, Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd Skynrd), Todd Sucherman (Alice Cooper), Goo Goo Dolls, Harley Hess (Christian Artist), and Jimmy DeGrasso (Black Star Riders).

With D’Addario’s dedication to inspiring musicians and elevating performance, the kick-off of their first ever NAMM party, much like their products, left everyone with something to look forward to year after year.
