Boss DS-1X and OD-1X reviewed in TopGuitar magazine

TopGuitar is proud to inform, that the August issue of the magazine features a review of the DS-1X and OD-1X guitar effects pedals from Boss. The product was delivered for review by Polish department of the manufacturing company, Roland Polska.

Below are some excerpts from a review by gear department editor Krzysztof Blas:

“When the company announced the re-introduction of its two legendary analog effects from the seventies, the first question that came in mind of every Boss fan was: why change something that is already perfect? Luckily, Boss declared that it is not about reissuing the modified versions of DS-1 and OD-1, but creating something entirely new.”

“Classic overdrive pedals distort the signal regardless of its dynamics, loudness or frequency. MDP analyzes all these parameters in real time, adjusting the level of distortion. This way you get different sound characteristics when you play light and different if you hit the strings really hard, and each frequency will be changed separately.”

“DS-1X sounds more aggressive and metallic, with lots of frizzling harmonics. OD-1X has a milder, more rounded and calmed down tone with warm midrange.”
